As I was a couple of years above most of you, you probably have less fond memories of me as I seem to remember that obnoxious behaviour to ones juniors was a way of life. It's certainly stood me in good stead as I'm a Detective Superintendent in the Metropolitan Police now - only joking - about the bhvr, not the job!! I'm in touch with Nick Barker who went in to the Navy & has stayed there (currently in Oman). I also had recent contact with Dave MacDonnell who left Symonds after O levels - another Police Superintendent!! I married Joady Small who I went out with for most of the 6th form - we split up for a few years at 18 until seeing the error of our ways. 20th wedding anniversary next year. Her parents still live in Winchester and play bridge with Mr & Mrs Parry-Jones who took over from Biffer. I recall teaching their young children to say four letter words to their parents at breakfast. So Risk was the game, eh? Regarding the TV room rush on Thursday night (Wasn't Dr Who on as well), you'll probably remember the chair tipping procedure where the front row seats where ousted of juniors to make room for more senior members. And the prcarious act of loading 3 or 4 chairs onto a large table to get grandstand seats? We rushed from prep on Thursday's to get a good seat to watch Tomorrow's World with Raymond Baxter followed by Top of The Pops. Was there not also an annual sketch night where each Year/dormitory did various things like impersonnating Marc Bolan doing Hot Love, etc. I spent a lot of time in the Common Room doing puishments in the form of 4 side essays on given out by prefects (Manchester Utd, the combustion engine, the inside of a ping-pong ball). I remember a Bruce but memory is rusty. You had black hair? Biffa so called because of his wierd deep voiced biffing noise exuded during classes as he taught facing the board pipe in mouth causing anything uttered to be totally unintelligable, mind you his hand writing was even worse? I can't quite place you but we must have been there around the same time. Do you remember the marathon board games that used to go on in the common room? What was it Campaign?
