I have just posted a photo in 'Photos Students', kindly supplied by John Scott yesterday, of a group of students outside the old fives courts - it has been suggested that is a 4th. or possibly Lower 5th. form group taken with Form Master Steve (Chalky) White in possibly 1953.

Would love to receive names of the boys and any other information relating to the photo please.

Hi All ...

I am copying and posting an e-mail received yesterday 21st. from RICHARD MOSS (a.k.a. Mossie) ... WELCOME Richard ...
The e-mail is self explanatory ...

Richard Henry Moss,
School dates 1960 to 1967,
Captain of Football 1966-67
Joint Captain of athletics with Andy Capper in 1967.

Loughborough Colleges, 1967 to 1970. Taught from 1970 to 2016 and am now happily retired.

My first post (4 years) was in one of the two rugby playing grammar schools in Leicester where I became Head of the PE Dept. at the end of my first year teaching.
My second post was 20 years at Oakham School in Rutland where the Head kindly encouraged me (and funded my Open University studies) to get a degree.
Then 11 years as Head of Maths at Kings Norton Boys School before finishing my career at Cadbury 6th Form College.
Seven children aged between 42 and 19 and four grand children (are my biggest delight).
My wife Gill (nee Brown) represented England at Hockey at the Seoul Olympics and I became Manager of the Leicester Ladies HC in the first year of the new Womens' National League in 1989.

Enough rambling on...I really want to contact my school mates, Alan Flux (a year ahead of me) in particular.

Can any one help!

Regards
Richard,    (Mossie).

Hi
I was a boarder at Kelso House/Barton Seagrave from 1971 to 1976, being 16 when I left after taking my O levels, when my dad left the army. I had two older brothers - Barry and Michael. Michael left the school in 1971/72 when we were living in Germany. Sadly he passed away in 2009, aged 51. Barry would have left in 1975, I think, when he was 18.
I’ve recent taken early retirement from Hampshire County Council in Winchester, where I worked for 20 years in two 10 year spells, with two years in South Africa in between. After leaving Peter Symonds, we went to Caernarfon where I took my A levels. I married Sharon, who I met at school in Caernarfon. After that I had a career in local government finance and moved around the country and abroad (Jersey and South Africa).
Anyone who remembers me or my brothers want to get in touch?
Thanks
Gordon Shinn

Hi Doug

As mentioned in my earlier e-mail to you, I remember both Mark Steer and John Everett,if he's the one whose dad owned North Walls Motor Works, from my time at Peter Symonds.
