WELCOME

A welcome goes to Paul Courtnage (Courtney) who joined our ranks today ...
A 'Thank You' also is in order to Chris Cooper for finding and posting Paul's work 'Courtney's Journal' ... as has already been stated, "A very interesting piece", which has prompted welcome postings from other members ...

  1. Thank you, Doug. Already seeing some very interesting stuff here. I may have some old Symondian magazines somewhere; I'll see if there are any scans I can contribute.

Of course, I've now realised that I just broke my own rule - "Never Join Anything". Oh, well, too late now! Seriously though, thanks to Chris Cooper for dragging me here, Bernard Webber for getting in touch and to you for your kind welcome.

  3. Wow, that article about School House life wa so well written and terribly evocative. Very well done. It really does cover everything. And quite right, old Mrs Renton was a treasure. Thank you for showing me this. A little thinking to do for me, I think.

  7. I've spent a chunk of this Bank Holiday Monday browsing your blogs, Alan. It's so gratifying to read a reminiscence of PS in which I recognize nearly every name! (I was there from '55 to ''63.)

I'm intrigued by the photo labelled "School House boys 59-60" on http://burlschooldays.wordpress.com/; I recognize several of the faces, but can't put names to them. As a daybug, I viewed life in School House as a very distant mystery. Although I was relieved and glad not to be a boarder in those days, I suspect I would have benefited from the experience.

You were at PS from '59-'63, you say - did you enter at 11?

    Chris
