I'm off for a while
Hello all,
I am going to take a few days off, travelling to see family on the south coast. Now behave yourselves and be kind to each other!!
Hello all, I am going to take a few days off, travelling to see family on the south coast. We leave tomorrow morning early. Now behave yourselves and be kind to each other!! The photos are great chaps, keep them coming. We are getting over the flu but I have now got another kind of virus, a computer one, dammit. It won't let me turn 'system restore' off so I can't use the removal tools that Symantec provide. I have installed the Seti screen saver, you know the one that is looking for extra-terrestrial intelligence. It is quite whizzy. regards, jim wishart,
Hi Jim ... Probably too late (08.40 hrs U/K now), cos you will have gone by now no doubt, but in case you haven't, I trust you and yours have a safe trip to the South Coast and return ... bring me back a stick of rock please !!! Take care !!! ... Regards from West Oz Doug
Well, the rugby was something else, wasn't it ... on the day, England deserved their win, but against Wales and France they were definitely outplayed, Rugby-wise ... but for Johnny Wilkinson, they would not have been in the final ... but, credit where credit is due, he is a fabulous player ... not too many players can say they scored ALL of the teams' 27 points in a World Cup match ... Well done !!!
As far as the 'Rock' is concerned ... Lee-on-the-Solent will be fine ...
Incidentally, not far away from Lee-on-the-Solent is Hill Head ... somewhere in my archives, I have a pic (or maybe two) of old Symondians Peter (Pete) Cox and Brian Freemantle taken on holiday with my Family and myself at a beach cottage at Hill Head ... from memory, I think I may have taken the pic, so I am not in it ... (I will look it/them out)
Enjoy your break ...
Regards from 'Down-under' ...

hi Doug, My wife's parents had a beach hut at Hillhead, small world innit? transaction update--- "Rock purchased, now considering delivery arrangements." regards, jim
Well, you realise of course you have now prompted me into looking for the photo(s) I mentioned ... regrettably, I cannot remember whose Beach-hut it was we stayed at, but wouldn't it be incredible if we were talking of the same one !!! ... I mean, Hill Head isn't (or rather, wasn't) that big !!!
By the way, just send the rock to me c/o Post Office, GLEN FORREST, Western Australia 6071 ... that will find me, as I make up the Philatelic orders at the Post Office to help out the Post Master !!!

Right ho Doug, Rock will be on its way shortly and we are setting off for Northampton. Although they sold their beach hut, the huts are still there and quite popular I believe, regards, jim
Enjoy your Holiday Jim and please give my regards to Piraeus and Athens if you get down that far ... stopped off there very briefly (48 hours) on my way to West Oz back in 1966 ... I have always said I would return one day, so I am very envious !!! ... Take care !!!
Would also like to take this oppotunity to say Hi to John Forder ... LONG time no talk to John (probably not since about 1951, or there abouts) !!! ... Peter Smith has sort of kept me up to date, although I have not heard from him for a while now ...
Keep the messages coming in people and the pictures too !!!
Keep smiling !!!
All the best ...

Hope it's not too late to wish you 'Bon Voyage', if that is the correct term for a motorised caravan holiday ... very envious of your trip, as it is something I would love to do, but it gets hard and very costly from West Oz !!! ... have a great time and will catch up when you hit a 'Cyber-cafe' ...
Cheers !!!

Hi Doug, Thanks for the good wishes. Yes I'll accept 'bon voyage' given that I own a sailor's hat and used to live on a boat! Just heard from my friend that my van is now ready so we'll be off shortly, regards, jim
Hi John, Glad you are enjoying the site. I don't know Oz really, I am now living in Northampton. Doug is your man. I am not sure if this message will work as the format is not the usual one. Maybe it's because I'm using Firefox. regards, Jim
